Drawing attention to Farm Safety Week in partnership with #PlantASeedForSafety

The importance of keeping agricultural chemicals safely stored and locked away in a well-ventilated area is just one of the many farm safety messages in the colouring-in competition being run in partnership with #PlantASeedForSafety for National Farm Safety Week (18 to 24 July).

The ‘Colour Between the Lines’ colouring-in competition aims to channel creativity when it comes to health and safety. The poster-sized rural community illustration is available online and in print in The Land and Stock Journal during National Farm Safety Week, and 8 to 14-year-olds are encouraged to charge their pencils, and power-up their pens to be in the chance to win a gift card prize.

Alex Thomas, Founder of #PlantASeedForSafety, said “We hope to challenge the stereotypes surrounding the topic of health and safety, to gamify what good health and safety looks like in the context of rural communities, and bring that conversation to life at the kitchen tables of rural households all over Australia.”

Syngenta’s Managing Director and Country Head for ANZ, Paul Luxton said the scenes depicted in the colouring-in competition are great reminders of important practices that will help keep friends and families in rural communities safe and healthy.

“National Farm Safety Week is also a good time to remember to read our crop protection product labels and Safety Data Sheets that provide information on safe storage, transport, use and disposal; these are available on our website at syngenta.com.au. If there are any questions about safe use, a Syngenta team member is only a phone call away and our 24-hour advice line provides emergency support.”

To enter the competition, get your copy of The Land in NSW or Stock Journal in SA or head to plantaseedforsafety.com/comp to download a digital copy and start colouring, count the #PlantASeedForSafety shovels hidden in the rural scene and in 50 words or less, tell us why the health and safety of family and friends is so important. The competition runs till 5pm ACST, Friday 30th September 2022. Instructions on how to submit your entry and terms and conditions are available on the #PlantASeedForSafety website.
